Obituary of Darrell K Porter

DARRELL K. PORTER STERLING-Darrell K. Porter, 59, of Sterling, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at CGH Medical Center. He was employed by Self Help Enterprises. Darrell was born January 1, 1956 in Sterling, the son of George M. and Marie C. (Burgess) Porter. He was the first baby born in Whiteside County in 1956. Survivors include, his mother, Marie Porter of Sterling; two sisters, Kathy Jordan of Rock Falls and Angela (Robert) White of Jacksonville, AL; three brothers, Dennis (Joy) Porter of Myrtle Beach, SC, Joseph (Kim) Porter of Sterling and Kevin (Lisa) Porter of Sterling. He was preceded in death by his father, George Porter. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Harvestime Bible Church, Rock Falls, with Pastor Dalmus Meeks, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:15 AM, Saturday, prior to services at the church. A memorial has been established to Self Help Enterprises.
