Phyllis Oswald

Phyllis L. Oswald, 95, of Sterling died Tuesday December 26, 2023 at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling. Phyllis was born November 23, 1928 in Sterling the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Tarvin) Oswald.

Phyllis worked for over 43 years as a Rate Clerk for the Chicago Northwestern Railroads. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Sterling. Phyllis loved all sports and was a die hard St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan.

Survivors include one brother Bill (Sue) Oswald of Oroville WA; 12 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings Charles H. Oswald, Twila Garrett, Beverly Prentice, Imogene Kroll, and Robert J. Oswald.

Funeral services will be 12PM Tuesday January 2, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church in Sterling, with Reverend Brad Wilson, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral from 11AM-12PM at Church. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
