Barbara Joan Crenshaw, 79, of Sterling passed away Saturday September 19, 2026 at her daughters home. Barbara was born November 23, 1946 in Centralia IL the daughter of John and Dorothy (Lee) Gowler.

Barbara enjoyed bingo, going out to eat, senior center, taking trips to the casino, word search, crossword puzzles, playing internet games and slots. She was always excited when recieving surprise visits from family and friends. Most of all she loved spending time going on many adventures to places with her daughter. She also found comfort through her final days under the love and support of her daughter's care.

Survivors include one daughter Stephanie (Hector Montanez) Novak; four sons Arthur Novak, John (Machelle) Novak, Mark (Carrie) Gordon, and James (April Renee Fox) Felton Jr.; one brother John E. Gowler; two sisters Alice (Jim) Hulse, and Linda (Eddie) Gowler-Wesley; and several grandchildren and grand child.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents John (Dorothy) Gowler. Birth father Ralf J. Crenshaw. Infant brother Carl E. Crenshaw. Uncle Aubrey Franklin Lee. Aunt Virginia Smith. And one still born child.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
