Colleen Kay Bonnell age 85 of Dixon passed away April 12, 2026 at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford surrounded by her family. Colleen was born March 5, 1941 in Parrish, Il to Emma Ruth Farnam and Willard Gail Smothers. She married Raymond Bonnell in 1981 and they shared 45 wonderful years together. She retired from KSB in 2001.

  Colleen is survived by her husband Ray of Dixon; one son Charles Bohn of Sterling; daughters Tracey (Brian) Aude of Chadwick, Amie (James) Sing of Deland FL, Dawn (Kerrye) Bonnell of Fiatt; twin sister Verdeen (Don) Lebre of Dixon; brother Gail Smothers of St. Louis MO; sister Connie Cross of California; eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

  Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Lloyd Kerley Jr.

  Cremation rites have been entrusted to Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling, and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
