DANA ALVIN GEDDES (Uncle D, Munch, Poppa Joe, My Little Friend) was born on October 3, 1954 to loving parents, Edward Geddes, Sr. and the late Vivian Geddes, in Chicago, Illinois.
Dana had a heart as big as his smile, which could light up any room. He was a kind, generous soul who brought warmth, laughter, and love to everyone around him. Truly great in every way, his presence made the world a better place.

After living a life filled with faith, love, joy, and kindness, Dana Alvin Geddes passed peacefully on the morning of Monday, July 14, 2025.
Welcoming Dana to his eternal home is his nurturing and loving mother, Vivian.
He leaves his amazing father, Edward Geddes Sr.; the best big brother, Edward Geddes Jr. (Tanya); and his beautiful little sister (My Little Friend), Andrea Geddes-Taylor (Victor) to celebrate his life and cherish his special memories.
Dana is survived by his devoted daughter, Shauna Geddes (DeAndre); her mother, Vivian Robertson, and their 6 lovely granddaughters who he adored and leaves his legacy of love, kindness, and strength with: Moriah, Morgan, Malani, Aminah, Alayah, and Ahmani.
Dana left an indelible mark on the hearts of his nieces: Kanahnee, Jazmon, Victoria, Jetaun, Lana, as well as his nephews: Eddie III, Aliya “Niko” (Gabbi), and Victor. His jokes will live forever with each of them.
Also mourning Dana’s passing is his Sterling, IL family. They include his partner/ companion of 19 years, Edwarda (Lala) Olivas, bonus children: daughters Silvia (Lino), Salina and son AJ (Lisa); as well as, grandchildren: Yelena, Lino Jr., Isaac, Angi, Angelina, Louis, Leo, Juju, Abel, Omolyia and Luca. All that he shared a profound connection with.
Lastly, cherishing wonderful memories of Dana are his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Dana’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him and love him.
