Ervin Burkett

ERVIN E. BURKETT STERLING - Ervin E. Burkett, 94, died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown. He was employed as a machinist for many years. Ervin was born February 1, 1917 in Marseilles, the son of Albert and Ella (Shoupe) Burkett. He married Geraldine E. Gribbin on February 10, 1938 in Marseilles. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2005. Survivors include one son, Brian Burkett, of Mineral Point, WI; one sister, Maxine Picton, of Redding, CA; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara and Brenda; four sisters, Esther, Mildred, Eleen and Nancy; and two brothers, Carl and Dale. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa. A memorial has been established.
