SUN PRAIRIE,WI – Gene Louis Noack, 73, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, passed away on March 28, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Gene was born February 18, 1946 at Copley Hospital in Aurora, Illinois the son of Adolph and Nadine (Carr) Noack. He married Gloria (Bomback) on June 3, 1967 at Park Place Baptist Church in Montgomery, Illinois. Gene graduated from East Aurora High School in 1964. He joined the U.S. Navy in October 1964. Gene was an electronics technician aboard the USS Everett F. Larson and completed two tours during the Vietnam War. In the past few years, Gene and Gloria have attended the Larson reunions and reconnected with his shipmates. After the Navy, Gene returned to Aurora and worked for Anixter Corporation. In 1973 he moved with the company to Sterling, Illinois. In 1981, Gene was employed by CGH Medical Center. He was the Director of Plant Operations and Maintenance and later Construction Manager. Gene had a love of music and books that was a constant in his life. He taught himself to play the guitar and entertained his family around a campfire many nights. You could always find him reading and he passed that love on to his children and grandchildren. Family came first and he was always there to help when needed. He knew how to fix almost anything. He learned carpentry from his father and woodworking became a hobby later in life. He made Adirondack chairs for each family member. Gene loved the outdoors and especially camping. Gene was also very involved in church. He enjoyed teaching and served as an elder. Survivors include, his wife, Gloria; three sons, Greg Noack of Sterling, Jeff (Megan) Noack of Sun Prairie, WI and Eric (Tamara) Noack of Sterling; one daughter, Laurie Villarreal of Sun Prairie,WI , one brother, Gerald Noack of Montgomery; two sisters, Yvonne Tuma of Aurora, and JoAnn Anderson of Naperville, and five grandchildren Jack, Kate, Elizabeth, Rylan and Emberlin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Ellen Weber. Visitation is from 5PM-7PM Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Harvest Time Bible Church with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
