Glenda J. Bechdolt, 82, of Sterling passed away Wednesday September 16, 2026 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Glenda was born December 27, 1943 the daughter of Louie and Martha (Donaldson) McFarland. She married Donald Bechdolt on January 28, 1961 in Rock Falls, IL. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2026.

Glenda worked at Subway for 15 years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sterling. She loved God, Family and the Hallmark Channel.

Survivors include one son Bradley (Cathy) Bechdolt; two daughters Brenda Hill, and Melissa (Tony) Summers; seven grandchildren Andrew (Lacey) Bechdolt, Aaron (Stacey Weber) Bechdolt, Nicholas (Megan) Morgan, Addison Morgan, Cameron Hill, Kierstyn (Gavin) Long, and Devon Summers; four great-grandchildren Etta Bechdolt, Evie Bechdolt, Noah Morgan, and Theodore Morgan.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Louie McFarland.

Funeral service will be 11AM Friday, September 25, 2026 at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral, from 10AM-11AM at the funeral home. Cremation rites will take place after the service, and burial at Oak Knoll Memorial Park will be at a later date.
