Judy Staples

Judy L. Staples 68, of Dixon, passed away on June 19, 2019, at her home after a long illness. Judy was born June 9, 1951, to Katie and Presley Leon McBroom in Sterling. Judy graduated from Rock Falls High School in 1969. She worked at Flex-O-Glass for 18 years and Dixon Hardee's for 31 years. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with her family. Survivors include, Kyle Staples (Jacquie) of Colorado Springs; her siblings, Barbara Sarber of Rock Falls, Tom McBroom and Vicki Hedrick (Randy) of Sterling; her son-in-law, Richard Underhile Sr. of Dixon, with whom she shared a special bond; step-sister Susan Meador of Mt. Carroll; six grandchildren, Richard Underhile Jr. of Rock Falls, Jacob Underhile of Dixon, Kamden and Koda Staples of Morrison, Jeanetta and Jania Williams of Colorado Springs; two great-grandsons, Nathan, Cayden; special friends, Ritchie, Nikki, Liza, Diane, Sue, Vicki, and her Hardee's customers. Judy joins her parents Katie and Don; daughter Bridget; sister Laurie; brother Jeff in Heaven. A Memorial Service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling at 2:00 PM on June 30, 2019. Randy Hedrick (brother-in-law) will be leading the celebration. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation will be sent to March of Dimes and St. Jude Children's Hospital.
