Louis C. Johnson was born on December 8, 1954, to the late Robert Johnson Sr. and Mary Johnson in Shelby, Mississippi. To his parents’ union, he was born to a twin (Lucy) and held the place of the middle child among 18 siblings. From a young age, Louis demonstrated resilience, humility, and a strong sense of responsibility. He was baptized at an early age, establishing a foundation of faith that guided him throughout his life.
Louis later made his home in Rock Falls, Illinois, where he built a life centered around hard work, family, and quiet strength. He built a strong work ethic through his years of employment at the Steel Mill in Sterling, Illinois, where he was known for his dependability and dedication. Beyond the mill, Louis was a man of many talents-painting at a nursing home and later working as a skilled carpenter. As an entrepreneur, he took pride in his craftsmanship and the work of his hands.
Louis was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Donna Johnson, and a proud and loving father. He leaves behind cherished memories with his children: Candace Rollins Ing ram of Atlanta, GA (Air r ion Ing ram), Connell Randall (Tiffany Randall) of Minnesota, and Desiree Johnson of Chicago, Illinois. He was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, who will forever carry his legacy forward. Louis had a warm and unforgettable presence, and his smile could light up any room and bring laughter to all of those around.
He is also survived by his siblings: Willie B. Johnson, Robert Johnson Jr. (Bobbi Jean Johnson), Ira Dean Forrest, Albert Johnson (Cherie Johnson), Alma Dukes (R.C. Dukes), Lucy Patton (Will Patton Sr.), Floria Ross (Carl Ross), James Johnson (Kathryn Johnson), and Chewanda Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: David Johnson Sr. (Flora Johnson-Walker), Bobbie Harts (Frank Harts Sr.), Rainey Johnson, Johnny Johnson, and Mary Ann Johnson.
Louis will be remembered for his resilience, his craftsmanship, his quiet strength, and a deep love for his family that will live on forever.
