MILLEDGEVILLE- Lucille Ann Wagenknecht passed away on April 25, 2019 in Sterling. She was born on June 26, 1925, and was the daughter of Albert Wagner and Mabelle Todd Wagner of Milledgeville. She married Rollo Wagenknecht on February 5, 1949. He preceded her in death in February of 2018. She is survived by their daughter, Susan (Arlan) Juhl of Springfield; grandson Ryan (Jennifer) Juhl of Springfield; granddaughter Sara (John) Kleinschmidt of Springfield, and Granddaughter Erin (Jason) Glenn of Lincoln along with great grandchildren, Will, Reed, Knox and Mae Kleinschmidt of Springfield, and Hudson and Liliana Glenn of Lincoln. She is also survived by Otto and Dorothy Wagenknecht of Milledgeville, Harold and Joyce Folkers of Polo, numerous nephews and nieces, and the Wagner’s foster daughter Marguerite (Elton) Ross of Crawfordsville, Indiana. Lucille attended Milledgeville Public Schools, and was a member of Campfire Girls. After high school, she attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa for one year and then another year at Evanston Collegiate Institute in Evanston, Illinois (later renamed Kendall College) and worked at St. Francis Hospital in Freeport before her marriage to Rollo. Lucille has been a member of the Milledgeville United Methodist Church since childhood and served as Sunday school teacher for several years. For many years she enjoyed being a member of a monthly Pinochle Club. She enjoyed every minute she had with her children and grandchildren. She is remembered as being an avid reader, loving wife, sister-in-law, aunt, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, neighbor, friend, seamstress, chef, and gardener. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Milledgeville United Methodist Church from 9-10:45 AM, followed by the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling, alongside her husband Rollo. The family extends our heartfelt thank you to the caring staff at Morningside of Sterling for months of loving care, The Citadel of Sterling for several months of rehab, and the Rock River Hospice and Home for Lucille’s final days. Memorials may be made to the Milledgeville United Methodist Church, and the Milledgeville Public Library. Arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, Sterling.
