DIXON-Maria Luz Guerrero was a devoted Mother, warmhearted Grandmother, adoring Mother in Law, kind Sister, caring Aunt & Friend. She left this world peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 16, 2021 at the age of 69. She was born to Jose Eduardo Rivas and Carmen Arenas Montelongo on Oct 9, 1952. She was a sibling to 10 brothers and sisters: Martha Rivas, Maria Rivas, Eduardo Rivas, Rosa Evangelina Rivas, Elvira Rivas, Francisca Rivas, Dolores Rivas, Ignacio Rivas, Jose Rivas and Carmela Rivas. She was also an Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Maria loved spending time at home creating delicious meals and homemade tortillas for her family. The simplest pleasures in life brought such joy to her heart. Short trips to the store, car rides and unexpected heartfelt phone calls always brightened her day. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. Maria was employed at Crest Foods for 24 years, however, her greatest accomplishments are her children. Marisela (Javier) Guerrero, Elizabeth (Manuel) Guerrero, Rico (Leticia) Guerrero, Lorena (Fernando) Castro, Gabe Guerrero and David Guerrero. Maria was blessed with 21 grandchildren. Roberto, Isaac, Christian (Leah), Yesenia, Daniel, Araseli, Nathaniel, Alejandra, Fernando Jr, Emma, Giselle, Matthew, Hayden, David, Sofia, Anahi, Joaquin, Genevieve, Arianna, Bryant, Bryce. Each grandchild had the joy of experiencing her amazing smile, infectious laugh and her snug cozy hugs. They will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looked like. There was no quit in Maria. Just because she is no longer here, doesn't mean she lost her fight.
