Robert Lee Yarbrough, 83, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Friday, August 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, honesty, service, and devotion to his family and to the Lord. Robert was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He loved his family deeply and was never shy about letting them know it. One of the things he would often say was, "Nobody loves my kids more than me but God." Those words reflected the depth of his love for his children and, even more importantly, his unwavering faith in God. He lived his life before the Lord. He was never ashamed to share the Gospel, and he consistently gave God the glory for the blessings in his life. His faith was not simply something he spoke about, it was evident in the way he served others and lived each day. He faithfully served on the Deacon Board and Security Team at Mount Calvary Baptist church in Camden, New Jersey and volunteered at the church food pantry and sang in the choir during his early years. He believed in helping others and giving back to his community. Whether serving at church, helping a neighbor, or spending time with family, Bob sought to be a blessing to those around him.

He was also a hardworking man. He worked as a forklift operator for Zuckermans for more than 18 years before going on to serve as a foreman for Reliable Tires. After years of dedicated work, he eventually retired.

Bob was known for being a man who spoke the truth. He had no problem telling you what he believed was right, but he did so in love. He was also humble enough to admit when he was wrong. His honesty, straightforward nature, and willingness to speak truth with love were qualities that made him uniquely Bob.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents William and Lucinda Yarbrough; one son Robert Stacy Yarbrough; six brothers Jimmy Mercer, Alec Mercer, Ike Mercer, Junior Yarbrough, Bernie Yarbrough and Wes Yarbrough; and five sisters Ava Yarbrough, Effie McGee, Mary Yarbrough, Elaine Peters and Sharon Webb.

He leaves behind his children (Brian Yarbrough (Deb), Monte Yarbrough (Selina), Anthony Yarbrough, Kelli Monroe (Marvin) a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings Curt Yarbrough (Edie), Carrie Carr, Annie McGee, and Hazel Davis.

Diane Money was a very important person in Bob's life and shared an unwavering friendship with him for many years. Gertrude Williams, along with Jack, Jackie, and Kelli, cared for Bob and treated him as a true member of their family. Their love, kindness, and care were a tremendous blessing to him, and it was a blessing to know that he was surrounded by love.

Bob leaves behind his cherished Mount Calvary family members who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His love, wisdom, humor, honesty, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed. The impact he made on the lives of those around him will never be forgotten.

Bob's life was a testimony of his love for God and for others. He shared the Gospel, served his church, loved his family, and gave God the glory. While his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, those who knew and loved him can take comfort in knowing that his faith was firmly rooted in the Lord.

Visitation will be from 11:30AM-12:30PM Friday September 11, 2026 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation. Funeral service will follow at 12:30PM, concluding with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, IL.

Bob's earthly journey is complete, but his legacy of faith, love, service, and truth will live on through all those he touched.
