We are saddened to announce the passing of Steven Roger Polzin, born on February 15, 1977, in Sterling, Illinois. Steven died at his home on December 21, 2025.
For the last 25 years, Steven made his home in Florida, where he built a life filled with warmth, generosity, and enthusiasm for the world around him. He was a beloved friend, son, and brother, whose journey was defined by service, curiosity, and an enduring love for music and adventure. Steven demonstrated leadership and commitment, earning the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Through Scouting, he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors, camaraderie, and the importance of helping others. His Eagle Scout project, which revitalized the local Salvation Army kitchen facilities, left a legacy of the Eagle Scout program. Steven also cherished the time spent scuba diving with his father, Roger, exploring underwater realms and creating unforgettable memories together.
Steven's passion for music extended beyond listening and performing; he was known for his vibrant voice and talent as a DJ, frequently volunteering his time to bring joy to local events. He also served as a public announcer at area raceways, where his energetic commentary made him a favorite among fans and participants alike. Through music and his engaging presence, Steven created memorable experiences wherever he went with family and friends.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Roger Polzin, and his brother, Gary Polzin.
He is survived by his loving mother, Mary Ann Polzin; his brother Geoffrey Polzin (Kathy), and his nephews.
His legacy lives through the lives he touched, the friendships he nurtured, and the music and adventures he inspired.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, Illinois. Visitation will be from 10-11AM, prior to services at the church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Steven’s name.
Steven will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his adventurous spirit, his devotion to service, and the beautiful music and memories he brought into this world.
