Ted Holmquist

STERLING - Ted Holmquist, 63, of Sterling, died, Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Rock River Hospice and Home of Sterling surrounded by his loving family. Ted was born September 15, 1955 in Portsmouth, VA the son of Floyd and Elizabeth Ann (Hartman) Holmquist. He married Mary Juarez on January 30, 1974 in Morrison, IL. Ted loved riding his motorcycle, spending time in his garden and listening to music while tinkering in his garage. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame Fan. Ted was very proud of his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them and all his family. Survivors include his mom, Elizabeth Holmquist; his wife, Mary Holmquist; one daughter, Angela Colville of Rock Falls; one brother, Kevin (Julie) Holmquist of Sterling; one sister, Tanya Holmquist of Sterling; two grandchildren, Taylor Colville of Sterling and Broc Colville of Morrison; and several special nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Theodore and Florence Hartman, and his father, Floyd Holmquist. A Private Family Graveside service will take place at a later date.
