WILLIAM L. “WILD BILL” FICHTENMUELLER STERLING- William L. “Wild Bill” Fichtenmueller, 58, of Sterling, died, Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at CGH Medical Center. He was employed at the former Northwestern Steel and Wire Company as a crane operator for 18 years. William was born January 19, 1958 in Alameda, CA, the son of George and Barbara (Blincow) Fichtenmueller. He married Diana Puentes on December 23, 1978 in Sterling. Wild Bill was a graduate of Dixon High School in 1976, a die-hard New Orleans Saints fan and Nascar enthusiast. He loved his grandchildren, was an artist, free spirit and will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Diana of Sterling; two daughters, Jasmine Fichtenmueller and Aja (Juan) Monarrez both of Sterling; his father, George Fichtenmueller of Dixon and mother Barbara Fichtenmueller of Deming New Mexico; two brothers, Jerry and James Fichtenmueller of Dixon; one sister, Lois (Tom) Hinton of Amboy; mother-in-law Irma Puentes of Sterling; one brother-in-law Narciso (BJ) Puentes Jr. of Sterling; one sister-in-law Elva Puentes of Sterling; and five grandchildren, Xia and Nia Harris, Santiago and Piper Monarrez and a grandson, due in February. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Homer and Florence Kracen and maternal grandparents, Homer and Lois Blincow; father in-law Narciso Puentes. Memorial service will be held at 5:30 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling, with Pastor Paul Sheley of One Eighty Church, Sterling, officiating. Visitation will be from 3:30-5:30 PM Tuesday, prior to services at the funeral home. A memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com.
