Zachariah Adam Heald, 46, of Sterling died April 9, 2026 at his home. Zach was born March 3, 1980 the son of Kevin and Judith (Smith) Heald.

   Zach graduated from Rock Falls High School, Sauk Valley Community College, and Illinois State University with a degree in education. Zach continued to get his Master’s degree in education from Saint Xavier University. Zach taught at Rock Falls Middle School for over 20 years. Zach loved his children with all of his heart, they were his pride and joy.

   Survivors include his mother Judith Heald; his children Cole Heald, Alivia Heald and their mother Kim Heald; one brother Samuael Heald; Niece Aubri; and nephews Julian Heald and kuitim Heald.

   Visitation will be 5PM-7PM Friday April 17, 2026 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling. Funeral services will be 10AM Saturday April 18, 2026 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, with Pastor Mark Griffin of New Life Community Church, officiating. Cremation will take place after the funeral and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling at a later date.

   A memorial has been established for his children.
