Christy Irene Lavigne

Christy Irene Lavigne, 52, of Rock Falls, died Monday July 31, 2023 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling. Christy was born March 4, 1971 in Sterling, the daughter of Gary Cox and Sandy Cochran. She married Melissa Lavigne on June 2, 2012 in Rock Falls. Christy liked to shop, cook and clean. You could eat off of her floor, it was absolutely spotless. Christy loved to spend time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. They could do no wrong. She would do anything for anybody. All those who knew Christy also knew she loved to bitch.

Survivors include her wife, Melissa Lavigne of Rock Falls; her mother Sandy (Edward Martinez) Williamson of Sterling; one sister, Tonya (Brick) Smith of Rock Falls; two brothers, Chad (Melody) Williamson of Rock Falls and Steven (Debbie) Cochran of Rock Falls; her adopted special niece, Navaeh Johnston; five nieces, Natalie Cochran, Alexis Williamson, Abby Boss, Aubree Boss, little Melissa Lavigne; one nephew, Blayne Williamson and one great-niece, Addilynn and two great-nephews, Eastyn and Lucian.

She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Florence and Bobby Olgesby; grandmother, Mary L. Cochran; grandfather, Willie M. Cochran; uncle and aunt Willie and Faye Cochran and first cousins, Jennifer and Eric Smith.

Funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday, August 4, 2023 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling with Dalmus Meeks officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Friday, prior to services at the funeral home.
