Obituary of Richard "Dick" Tessmann

 Richard“ Dick” Tessmann, 80, of Sterling, IL went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, February 26, 2024. Dick was born in Watertown, WI in the year 1943.  After high school he earned a bachelor's degree from Bob Jones University and then went on to graduate from Central Seminary with a masters degree in divinity. In 1968 he moved his family to Sterling to Pastor Calvary Baptist Church. In 1978 he resigned from Calvary and started the company Twin City Construction. For the next 45 years, his company has helped to shape and build this community. Respected for his hard work ethic and desire to see this community grow he will be greatly missed.

    Dick was preceded in death by his father Ray, mother Arvada, and sister Joan.

    He is survived by his brother David, sister Nancy, wife Isabel and children, Jeff, Melody, Carissa, Elizabeth, and stepson Hugo. He also has 12 wonderful grandchildren.

   Join us in celebrating the life of Richard “Dick” Tessmann. Visitation will be Thursday March 7, 2024 from 9am-11am followed by a Homegoing Service at Schilling Funeral Home located at 702 First Ave.,Sterling IL 61081. Graveside Service will be held at Ebenezer Moravian cemetery, Saturday March 9, 2024, at 11am in Watertown, Wisconsin. Located at 4229 Ebenezer Dr., Watertown, WI 53094.

    A memorial has been established.
